Had baby I need to lose 60 pounds in about 6 months.
Im working 6 days a week from 9am to 8pm. I need ways of working out maybe in short periods and foods to eat to help as well. Ive tried the diets: body by VI I've done weight watchers and nutra system. I have a thyroid condition but it seems when I'm taking the synthroid medicine I'm gaining weight. I'm willing to exercise at work if I can. I work in a hair salon so I have no problem walking around the building or up and down salon. Im currently 210 and want to be 160. I had a baby January 2012 and I feel like I should have lost this baby weight by now and haven't. I'm going to meet my inlaws in Jamaica for the first time this summer and would like to wear a 2 piece bathing suit when I go down :)

You will need to do this primarily through your diet but if you cut your diet too much you will not be able to stick with it, will lower your metabolism and you will undermine yourself.

Eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and avoid anything white like white rice, white potatoes, white pasta, white bread. Have small portions of complex carbohydrates.

Measure your servings and focus on lean protein, low-fat dairy, healthy fats like olive oil, fruit, vegetables and complex carbs. Eat five small meals a day and don't go more than 3 to 4 hours without having a small meal.

For exercise, just make a point of moving more and try to carve out some time when you can devote 30 minutes a day to fitness. Put the baby in a stroller and walk vigorously, or work out to a video in your living room. You could bring some small dumbells to work and learn some simple arm exercises between clients - you can easily get a few sets of repetitions in every so often. You can do squats in the back room, or do lunges from the front to the back of the salon when there are no customers (if your colleagues don't think it's weird). Walk around the block several times during lunch.

10 pounds a month isn't insanely unrealistic but it is a very lofty goal, particularly with a thyroid issue so if you loose more slowly, be kind to yourself and don't view it as a failure. Every loss is a win. If you haven't been successful, evaluate what you're doing and make an adjustment, then keep going. You might have months when the best you can do is 1/2 a pound per week, but that's pretty normal so don't consider it a failure.

I'd also recommend that you give up all pop, and eat your calories - don't drink them. Give up alcohol, milk, pop (even diet), juice - drink water. It's a lot more filling to eat a piece of cheese than to drink a glass of milk, or to eat an apple rather than drinking a glass of apple juice, and it will be less calories. Take a multi-vitamin and coordinate with your thyroid doctor. If you're breast feeding, make sure not to cut too much from your diet.
