Would cutting out alcohol make a big difference?
I want to lose a little bit of weight but I hate exercise and love my food, I know I need to cut down on what I eat but would cutting down on my alcohol intake also help?

alcohol contains empty calories that do you no good from a weight loss standpoint.

usually, when you cut calories, through diet, at some point you'll stop losing weight as your metabolism will adjust... and the only way to adjust your metabolism is to find an exercise you can stick with.

exercise isn't just about looking more fit... a fit looking person who doesn't exercise can get clogged arteries just like the heavier person.

have you tried dvd's? Not a bad way to get in exercise, at home, on your own time, and the visual distraction helps you from getting bored. Tae bo is good. Pilates is evil. I don't do dance dvd's but they can help you move your bod and not be bored to tears. Your local public library will likely have vids you can check out for free... not a bad way to sample diff types of exercise... and most are just 30 min to over an hour...

but back to the topic... yep... eliminating some cohol calories might show some change, esp at first. Ultimately, exercise will likely need to be a part of the equation.

my love works out four to five times a week because she loves food and drink. It's the price to pay if your metabolism isn't high.

Alcohol is just calories that adds up. Lots of sugar to boot. Inhibits exercise obviously so it can't be positive to do as a routine. Having a beer or drink socially once in a while won't hurt unless you are having Buffalo wings and Burgers along with it. Hahaha
