    How to not be hungry
I am 14 and 190 pounds. I am at a very unhealthy weight for my age and I need to change that. I don't really know how to lose the weight. Its difficult for me to eat healthy with school. I want to go on the Special k cereal diet. My problem is that I get very hungry at school. I eat a good breakfast but I am always starving by lunch. What should I do? I don't have any time to eat in between classes. And I just know if I go on this diet that my stomach will be growling through all my classes and that's just so embarrassing. My other problem is the schools lunches. There so unhealthy, the healthyest thing they have is a sandwich and its loaded with manonaise. I don't know how to go on a diet and not get hungry. What should I do?

Avoid the mayo sandwich. Try to pack lunch.

Also, what do you eat for breakfast?

To keep from not being hungry, snack on healthy snacks: nuts, fruits, vegetables, or if all else is a pain, then go for a protein bar. I used to pack 2 protein bars a day to eat between breakfast/lunch and lunch/dinner. And I always packed a sandwich for lunch.

Try to eat lots of fiber and protein. The fiber will fill you up and keep you fuller longer. Isneeze funny is right on about packing protein bars (make sure they're not overloaded with tons of extra sugar. I like luna bars or balance bars and I eat one for breakfast almost everyday) and packing lunch, because then you know what is in your lunch.

You can pack some healthy snacks in a baggie like nuts or vegetables or something in your bag. I do this quite often, especially if I know that I'm not going to be able to eat for awhile.

Also drink LOTS of water. This will help keep you full too.

Well if you want to go on the special K diet then they have that special K protein water which will help you to not be hungry till lunch. Also pack a special K granola bar in your pocket and eat it between classes or in class when your teacher is not looking... I did it all the time when I was in HS, just have to be slick with it. :) I weigh 187 pounds right now so I know where you are coming from. I know its hard but if you stay committed to your goals you will be just fine!

Personally, I try to drink a bunch of water and have some protein to start the day, and less carbs. Eat often but less. The protein bar is an option for a quick mid morning snack. Then, if the school lunch isn't healthy, you don't have to eat it all... portion control is good. Again, drink water. Take a multivitamin... don't starve yourself... it'll backfire. Stop with sodas, especially those with tons of sugar.

When it comes to changing your diet, you shouldn't try to radically change it all at once. Start with a little portion control maybe... eat a 2/3rds of what you would have before... yes... you might have to leave food on the plate. Put in a healthy snack and drink water. Sometimes thirst is interpreted as hunger.

Some say it takes 6 weeks to develop a habit... that you need to be ready to keep trying and trying... but, again, this isn't about a diet... this is about health... you don't need to fix everything all at once.

Also, there is absolutely no substitute for exercise. Start with a short walk if you can't run. Your day screws your schedule up maybe with school and all, but some suggest excercising in the morning is better than late... your metabolism is more fired up earlier in the day and you'll get better results.

So be patient... and don't knock portion control and small meals with healthy snacks and even a treat now and then. You can be amazed at how even just two weeks of eating a little less at each meal will leave you satisfied with less food once your body gets used to it. In fact, if hunger during the day is a big problem, maybe start cutting back at dinner... we tend to overload at the last meal of the day when we need food less...

And try to find a way to workout... it doesn't matter your age... it's the best way for your body to shape itself into a healthier you, and coupled with thoughtful eating, it's a double plus.

You cannot always choose the food you are going to get at this stage in your life, but you can choose how much to eat... pare it back bit by bit and/or replace poor choices with better choices. You still need calories and good nutrition to be healthy.

Remember... six weeks to form a habit. Give it time and ease into it.

Get slimquick the podered fruit drinks they made me eat so much less which I kind of thought was unhealthy for me at the time and sometimes I take breaks from it, but also drink lots of water and try to go for as many walks as you can. Don't just stop eating all together because that;s really unhealthy and it's Slimquick not slimfast too , people confuse the to a lot.

I currently am seeing a dietician and they encourage small meals (6 a day) to stop hunger and not "crash" throughout the day. Pretty much anything with a lot of carbs or sugar is going to make you crash and make you hungry. Normally I eat a string cheese and a small apple or orange for breakfast (7 a.m.) and around 10 I get hungry again and I am eating South Beach Diet granola bars (they have 10 grams of protein each) and then I am good until lunch. Lunch you can eat whatever you want, just try and have a BIG salad or a cup of soup first to fill you up, and eat as slow as possible. Then the same thing with dinner. I switched from regular to diet pop and don't miss regular at all!!

Oh yeah... also my fav way to get in a little protein and fill me up is just eat a plain TBS of peanut butter. Full fat peanut butter (not the low fat stuff)

Water and protein little buddy! It will only take a few weeks to get through the hunger pains, they ill subside quicker than you think... just stay committed. I definitely recommend packing your lunch for school the night before... you will be amazed. THrow a couple oranges in your locker each week and they will give you a few calories and a quick energy boost! You are right you are unhealthy, but at least you know it and are doing something about it! GOOD FOR YOU!

Whatever you do do not stop eating. You may loose a few pounds quick but that will just slow your metabolism and it won't burn food as fast when you start eating again. Like some of the others said, drink lots of water you can get little flavor packs to pour into water bottles for flavor which is better than pop since it can be high in sodium which isn't good. I find that eating a peanut butter sandwich and a piece of fruit or yogurt for breakfast will hold me over till lunch. Then its some raw veggie sticks, skip the high fat dip, and some kind of meat leftover from dinner the previous night. Light popcorn is also a good filling snack and any kind of nuts. Eating little amounts more often will let you body know that you are not going to deprive it and it will continue to burns calories. With my job I have to eat when I can and eat food that will keep me full and give me energy.just some tips that work for me.

In my job I got to meet a weight standard and take a physical fitness test every six months. Right now I'm 215 lbs and my max weight has to be 190. What I do is I eat whatever I want till the month bfore the test and I start on a diet and exercise. So you never want to miss a meal cause it will only starve you even more making you want to eat more the next time you get a chance to eat. Also stop eating when you feel that the food is starting to taste really good. Try not to eat after 6:00pm. Above all work out. Be aware of what you eat. Good luck

I find if you eat a protein filled breakfast that is lower in unhealthy fats, and includes some carbs you will be fuller longer. For example a omelete (egg white preferable) with some vegetables and even a small amount of skim mozzarella is good, or greek yogurt with whole grain granola and fruit and u can add with that whole wheat toast with almond butter. Its good to start the day off with a more filling breakfast and when it comes to school it gets tricky. For lunch its best to pack lunch, it won't spoil if you put a travel sized ice packet in it. Sandwiches with lean cuts of meat are good such as turkey breast, and then a salad with it minus all the croûtons and heavy dressing is awesome to pair it with.
Juices are really good as a snack not bought juices but homemade. You can juice fruits, or you can make a fruit smoothie and throw in some low calorie, low fat protein powder.
Also if you make a food diary you will have a good idea of what you are eating and you can try out different combinations and see which ones kept you fuller for longer. Drink lots of water and green tea and if you make a pitcher of ice water and slice lemon and let it soak it tastes good, a bit sour, but it cleanses your system and helps rid you of toxins to a minor extent
