I don't think black is a bad idea for spring at all! Black is elegant and timeless. One idea you might want to think of, is going with the purple or lavender, and adding a black sash to the dress, so that black is your complimentary color. You could also tie this is with your bouquets, by adding black ribbon, beads, feathers, or another accent filler. The table arragements could be done with the same as the bouquets, as well as corsages and boutineers, and decorations, coupled with the other colors.
Or, you could go the opposite. Have black as your main color, but spring it up with the purple or lavender, as your accent color. You can work the silver in too if you want. There is nothing wrong with those colors being coupled together, even in spring. Just try and give a bit of spring that will attract the eye to the spring color along with the elegant black.
