What do I need to get married in Wisconsin?
Jey I have question and I hope someone can answer it for me... I'm eighteen but will be nineteen in a few days and me and my boyfriend are wanting to get married. But he wants to get married in a church with both of our families and I want to get married in the court house... anyways my question is this, which ever one we do what do we need to have? And how much will cost for the licensce? And do we need ids, birth certificate, and social security card? And does that apply for both or just the courthoue or the church?

My brother just got married, first officially in the courthouse with both family members, signature etc. then the day after in church. You can do both, right? What you need in terms of documents, I don't know, I'm sure there's people more eligible around here to answer; Im sure though if you Google a bit or ask your local townhouse they'll give you all details in what steps and documents you need to prepare.

Your marriage license will be about 100 dollars, you will need your drivers license or some other form of ID.
The marriage license will allow you to be married at the court house or by a pastor.

A church wedding can cost a few hundred to thousands depending on how fancy you want it.

Many pastors will do private weddings in our home or other places. A pastor will charge 150 to 400 dollars for a private wedding.

You apply at the county clerk's office. It must be a county where one party has lived for the past 30 days. Your license will be issued after a five-day waiting period, and it's good for 30 days. You get married by someone legally able to perform marriages in WI, and you must also have 2 witnesses (who can be anyone).
