    Somewhat confusing courthouse procedures
All right so I live in Illinois and I was looking up the laws on getting your marriage license and it says that we both have to be there to apply and to apply at the courthouse in the county where we live. I'm planning on calling the courthouse when I have a free minute this week but I was looking for an answer without having to. We both live in separate counties he lives in southern Illinois and I live in the suburbs of chicago so should we go to the courthouse in which were planning to get married in? Or will they not be able to do it because he's in a completely different county. Help?

A marriage license comes from the state, not the county. It seems odd that you were told that you must go to the county in which you live. Are you sure you understood that correctly? Since you live in separate counties, I would go to the courthouse in either your county or his.
