The Portuguese Home Affairs in Portugal
My husband was born in Angola in 1956. His parents were born in Madeira, Portugal. He came as a refugee to South Africa in 1975 and are a citizen here, married to a South African woman and we have 5 children. We tried for more than 10 years to obtain his birth certificate from Angola and when his sister managed to get one the Portuguese Embassy in South Africa said his mother's name is wrong. Now we tried again via the Angolan Embassy and people in Angola as well but the Angolan Home Affairs said only my husband can get it in person himself. It is not possible for him to go to Angola in the near future. I want him to be registered in Portugal so that our children and me can become Portuguese citizens as well. Is there another way of getting his birth certificate from Angola without going there? URGENT PLEASE
