Looking for software to learn foreign words
    Hi,

For my new job I'm learning Italtian. When I was in school, I had a piece of software (by Iris, doesn't exsist anymore) in which I could write my own lists of words in any language. It would then train me by naming a word and I would type in the meaning. If I didn't know, it showed the answer. It could train me both ways and it would lower the frequency of asking of words I knew well and increase the frequency of those I didn't. Unfortunately, I had this program on a 5 1/4 floppy and it ran on my 086 computer which didn't even have a hard drive 15 years ago. Does something similar exsist to run under XP?

    Thanks,

    Hugo

Yes, there are lots of foreign language apps available.

You can check out titles for free at www.download.com. Narrow the search down by choosing the language you want to learn. I've seen some apps that do multiple languages too.
