    Yard Machine won't start.
    I was recently given a 42 inch Yard Machine Lawn mower. It will turn over and starts for a brief second and then dies when you spray starter fluid. We have drained the gas tank and put in fresh fuel, replace the spark plug checked the compression and made sure we got a spark, cleaned the filter, cleaned the carburetor and replaced the seal, checked the fuel solenoid and it appears to be working. It is a B&S engine MODEL# 31C707 TYPE 0603 CODE E1070404ZA, MTD MODEL# 13AN772G729. Any help of suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    I think it is the fuel fuel-off solenoid or the fuel line in that order.

    I removed the carburetor again and found a plugged jet hole, cleaned it and it now starts. My problem now is when I move the throttle lever down it will not idle down. I can manually get it to idle down by moving the levers on the carburetor but as soon as I let go of it it idle fast again. Any thoughts on this would be helpful.
