We are having trouble reloading the string in the weedeater. The string doesn't feed through when its tapped on the ground.

    Hi,
I will give a multi-part answer. First when re-string a spool, my point of reference is to hold the part that bumps on the ground in my hand and the inside part facing me. In this perspective the line will wrap in a counter-clockwise direction for a cuved shaft (yours) or clockwise for a straight shaft. Understand that these perspectives reverse from the other side. Both lines wrap in the same direction, if there are two (yours.) You do not have to use two; a friend who is a pro landscaper does not because he says the cutting height is less controllable. Wound in opposite directions, they pull against each other. Wrapped in the wrong direction, inertia works against the line feeding.

Manuals are freely available online, both owners and parts often at:
    PoulanPro: Outdoor Power Equipment

Lastly here is your manual attached. Try page 10.
    Peace,
    Clarke

My Weedeater was making a heavy clunking sound and then froze up right after I sprayed some starter fluid into the air intake. I have a featherlite xt260 weedeater that looses power after running a short period. Starting is not a problem and RPM's seem good at initial start up. The problem is that it begins to loose RPM's shortly after I begin trimming grass and will eventually die. I've cleaned the air filter. I have...
