    Weedeater FeatherLite XT260 16" 25cc
I'm trying to replace the pull cord and instructions aren't included in the manual. I've got everything back in place but can't get it to wind... or rather when I wind it manually am unable to put the weedeater back together without it unwinding.

Should I be winding it manually left or right?

I still need to reconnect the power etc. and re-assemble the entire weedeater.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I did look at the sticky... OK, here's what happened. The orig cord snaped about an inch from the pully. I removed it cut off the excess and basically shortened the cord an inch to 2 inches... I replaced the cord as it had :D will let you know how it goes.

Half my reply disappeared on posting!! Should have read:... I replace the cord as it had been orig. and did the pull test / winding thing, but when I reassemble the weedeater the cord now dangles about 1-2 inches from the motor housing, don't know if this matters or is just annoying to me... I am about to try it out anyway before the weeds take over my yard and the dogs disappear :D will let you know how it goes.

I have a featherlite xt260 weedeater that looses power after running a short period. Starting is not a problem and RPM's seem good at initial start up. The problem is that it begins to loose RPM's shortly after I begin trimming grass and will eventually die. I've cleaned the air filter. I have...
