My Craftsman 18 HP Lawn Tractor keeps stalling. We used it once this year and it worked okay. We put fresh gas in it and it starts, will run for a very short time, and start to sputtered and then stall?

Additionally, now we let the battery drain. Can we use a regular car charger to charge the battery over night?

It depends on how low the battery is and what amps you are using to charge the battery.
Car charger is fine but I wouldn't leave it on over night and maybe cook the battery.
10 amps for and hour or so so slow charge it...

First check the plugs to see if they are decent.

Then Check the fuel filter.

After that clean out the carbs needle and seat valve and bowl on carb.

( the needle and seat valve is where the gas line hooks up to the carb. It regulates the amount of gas into the bowl and is controlled by the float... )

Is this NEW just got some gas??
