I received an old but running Turfpower MTD 12 HP 38" 7 speed tractor, but without a manual for it.
I also need a transaxle for it as well.
When I try entering model number located under the seat for this machine, I got zilch.
Could really use some help.

Use this unit as a parts machine.
Please, don't try to repair it, it's not worth it.
The transaxle (gear drive) costs about $450 for just the part.

To give you an idea of how old the tractor is, go to the engine and look for the Model, Type and Code numbers. They will either be etched into a plate near the rotating screen, or stamped into the housing above the spark plug.
The Code is the number you want - should be an 8-digit alphanumeric number.

Example - 030615FA... This means 2003 (03), June 15 (0615), and the FA is their line and shift designation (where it was built).
