On the B&S Sprint 375, the governor springs are located under the air filter canister. If you remove the canister (single screw on the top), you should have easy access.

To know what they look like, go to the following link:
Briggs & stratton quattro quatro sprint and classic lawnmower engine spare parts
The "idle governor spring" is the 15th item listed. The "throttle main governor spring" is immediately below it.

You can also download an engine operators manual (.pdf) and/or an illustrated parts list. You'll need to know the engine model number first to download the docs.
Owner Manuals - Briggs & Stratton - Austraila - New Zeland
Just follow the steps. If you don't know where to look for the numbers, there is a link to the side to help show you where to look.

    This link is for Europe:
    Maintenance & Repair - Briggs & Stratton

As you know, B&S engines have a spring in the governor arrangement.

You want to change tension on the spring to change the speed. (This is basically true of most other small engines as well but the details will differ.)

The spring is attached to a metal tung in the linkage at front of motor, this is made of a tinny metal so you can easy bend this tung.

To lower speed you want to lessen the tension on the spring. You can do this while the motor is running at top speed but it would be safer to do the bending while mower is not running. By pushing in tung you will lessen top speed gently as it doesn't take much to alter that speed.

Often this tung gets knocked in while mowing around bushes or other protruding material and "hey presto" your engine is only idling. It is a design problem that briggs should be working on.

Here is a AMHD link with pix's. Its for an easy start 200, but may help:

    Hi,
I did actually find a picture of your engine at Briggs:
    43.xml - Briggs & Stratton
And recently found manuals for Briggs at a site (they and Deere are almost impossible) They are also large if you do not have a good quality connection at high speed and are in Australia.
    Attached are some pictures.
    Peace,
