Replacing bottom bearing on steering rod of murray lawnmower
What is the easiest way to get the snap ring off the bottom of the steering rod so I can replace the bearing?

    Hi,
Got a model number there? Most Murrays are modular until Briggs took the over, closed the factories and had AYP make the mowers. I ask since the older ones did not have a snap ring, but AYP (and a few others love them.)
Generally with the proper pair of snap ring pliers is the correct answer; got a Sears nearby?
    Peace,
    Clarke
