Not needed! A good compost breaks down really fast. Why waste electricity and have to deal with yet another appliance?
A good compost gets air from being stirred, heat from the sun, and a variety of plant/food matter. Beware of grass clippings. They are too compact by themselves and just mold.

I have heard of people who have two drains under their sink, with a switch - one sends everything outside and one down the drain.
