    Mower starts but runs at high throttle!
    I have a craftsman with a 18hp motor on it and it will start up but when it starts its at high throttle. Also when I engage the blade it die's .

    This is 2 separate issues. You need to check your throttle cable. It may be frozen. And check your safety switches (check reverse switch first if modern mower) and see why it is dying when the blade is engauged.
