L100 battery does not hold charge
Battery not holding a charge on my John Deere L100 lawn tracter/mower. Was told it could either be the stator or voltage regulator. Which one should I attempt to replace first and is there a blow up of where they are located.
I have mechanical aptitude and not afraid to get into it myself.
    Appreciate any help.

    Hi,
The regulator could be bad, but I would be suspicious of wiring under the dash first. Disconnect the battery ground and hook a meter in series and start unplugging things to see when resistance goes to infinity, if it was not already. If it was already at infinity, it is a bad cell in the battery.
    Peace,
    Clarke
