    John deere l130 engine problems
    We have a John Deere L130 it starts fine but then the engine revs and then slows non stop. We were told to put "Sea Foam" in the fuel tank and that has not helped. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix it.

    Hi,
    I would take the least expensive part first to try. Try a new fuel filter, noting they often have an arrow on them for direction of flow. Do not be surprised if the replacement does not look like the original as those machines come with a Briggs filter and the Deere replacement is the AM116304.
    If that does not improve it, then it may be that the fuel filter cannot keep up with the demands of the engine. It is significantly costlier.
    That engine had few internal problems; a few had badly cast sumps that leaked , and I did see one that the factory failed to install the wrist pin keeper but those are rare and do not apply to your description.

    Thanks for your reply. We had tried that already we also were told to try SeaFoam to clean the carburetor and that does not seem to be working either. Any other suggetstions?

    Blow back though your fuel line going to the tank.
    Deere had a problem with these gettig a kink in them were they go under the fender deck,

    Hi,
    Deere had a couple of fuel line troubles. The line that went down at the center of the tankon early machines could be pinched at the frame and had to be pushed back into its groove. Later machines with the line on top could have the line come off its connector because the clamp was not positioned correctly. A very limited number ahd the line in the tank fall off.

    Check your fuel cap vent. Mine clogged up and did the same thing to me. Good luck!
