I am battling the same condition on a B&S 12.5hp 286700 series engine. The throttle butterfly doesn't close all the way. I have cleaned everything but can't seem to see what spring closes the throttle. I can push the governor arm forward and slow it down, but it pops right back open to about 1/2...

I have a 14hp briggs on a 2004 toro 1438z ztr mower. It has a nikki carb which I rebuilt 2 days ago. When I start it it runs OK at high idle though it misses some, but when I idle it all the way down it lopes badly and occasioaly backfires. Is this a fuel solenoid problem or what??

When starting rpms rise to 3000 then will die you can keep it running if you hold gas above 3000 idel id varey erotic if under 3000 rpms vary hard to keep running
