    Honda riding mower problem
    I have an older Honda 3011 Riding Mower that won't start without jump starting it. I just replaced the battery with a new one and I checked it with a voltmeter and it reads 11.8... I seem to remember car batterys usually reading 13+ so is this OK or too low?

    I have already checked the belts, changed the oil, sharpened the blade, cleaned the carb, replaced the air filter, and spark plug so this is the last thing I need to do before using for the season. Also, if anyone knows a good website to buy Honda mower parts from let me know... this stuff is $$$$$. I have found Plano Parts and Pats Small Engine Plus online but have not used them yet.

    Thanks!

    If your battery isn't being charged by the engine, then it will keep going down... have the charging system looked at... as for cheap parts... this is a honda, I doubt you'll find that cheap of parts...

    Just to let everyone know, I got it fixed. It was a combination of weak battery (I recharged it) and a bad spark plug... I had changed the ones in all the other lawn equipment tools, but was waiting until after I had changed the oil, etc. in the rider; after that I just forgot :-{

    Just so you know Pat's Small Engine Plus has a ton of OEM and Aftermarket parts for much cheaper than Plano... and shipping is only $5.95. I got an air filter and blade for ~$30 shipped.
