    Can I convert 240v to 110v power tool
    Hi I have a chop saw I have brought but its 240v and for site it has to be 110v its used but only a hand full of times. So wouldn't get as much for it if I sold it but I want the same saw but new its over £500 so too much for me but was wondering if its possible to convert a 240v to a 110v thanks

    With respect, this can not be done, because the windings, the amount of copper wire wrapped around the armature, the central shaft,through the motor, would be different,
    Making it impossible to reduce the voltage, look for a replacement on eBay, and sell yours to cover the cost. Best wishes honestwelsh

    HP of saw please? Transformer or rent generator may be economical.

    Mfr may be able too convert. Change rotor, stator and cord.

    Some saws are built to run on 120 or 240, just by switching a wire or two inside the electric box cover. My craftsman radial came out of the box with this option. If the saw is not designed to be 120 and 240 you can't change it. I think you can find a chop saw for a much more reasonable price on the net or at a box store.
