    Broken cord on chain saw
Broke my cord on my homelite d3300 12" chainsaw. I only broke about 5" off the original cord, so I just re-knotted it through the handle, but when I pull all the rope stays out. I have taken it apart and rewound it several times, but the result is the same. What am I missing.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I would guess that the spring is broken. They can sometimes break and the break is not obvious until the spring is removed as it gets "hidden" in the coils.
    Peace,
