Hi, Most Briggs engines have been solid state since the 1980s. 1982-3 for many and 1985 for virtually all. Aluminum block engine have the points beneath the flywheel and cast iron ones in a box on the side of the engine(similar to a Kohler K-series) if old enough. Peace, Clarke |
