I have a Deutz-Allis 613 lawn tractor with a B/S 12.5 horizontal engine. When I got it. The engine would run fine unless it was under a load... if the choke was pulled out half way the engine wouldn't stall. I replaced the drive belt and then the mower belt sharpened the blades and the tractor would run fine. That is if indeed the choke was pulled out about half way. IF indeed you weren't vigilant... the engine would stall... now it would idle fine however under a load... it would stall, unless the choke was out... I did get it to run and mowed for approx. 20 min. then the mower stalled... there was no spark... I replaced the magneto... and I still have no spark... I have checked the micro switches... the seat switch has been wired together the switch for the transmission appears to be OK so does the brake clutch switch. The engine turns over fine with the starter... I have no spark I have removed the wire and no spark.. . there must be a way to circumvent the power to the engine... shouldn't this engine run by itself after it is started... I mean it doesn't rely on the battery does it? An interesting note is that the headlights.. which worked before the engine stopped worked... weakly but did work... now they don't... any input is appreciated thanks in advance for any insights to this...

Are you fowling a lot of plugs? If your carbrator mixture right? Are all the gas lines free of obstructions?

Starter must crank engine at mimium of 300 RPM for mag to create spark. Make sure ground wire from mag is not grounded out (bare wire).
