Use an s video cable for video, red and white RCS's for audio.
    Do you have Component Video(red/blue/green)?

Yellow is composite, not component, don't use. S-Video handles your video, red and white is audio. Use red blue green if you have it, red and white for audio, do you have red/blue/green(component) on both?

Yes, I have red/blue green ( components) on both. The way it hookup now, the VCR work fine but the DVD has a double picture.

Both S-video and component, and even composite does not handle audio, separate red and white(audio) must be used, HDMI includes Audio, DVI does not.
