    Freeanswers on lcd TV questions
    I have a 52 inch sony television that developed red and blue vertical lines across the entire set it was an intermintent problem that lasted about 30 min when you first turned on the t.v. sony sent out repair and they swapped out a BU board but it did not correct the problem but now set has been in repair for three months and repair cannot find the parts The TV was only bought a year ago brand new but warranty expired and sony says were out of luck any suggestions?

    Escalate things with Sony. Obviously you brought the problem to their attention before the warranty ran out so if you escalate things you might get somewhere. But I can't promise you this as under manufacturer's warranties, they are usually under no obligation to fix/replace it if they can't get the parts.

    If you have all the receipts from the repairs or some other form of documentation, this will help also. You could also try going through the place you purchased it if you get nowhere with Sony and see if they might be able to talk to a rep or deal with them for you. Again, here I can't promise much either as usually manufacturer's want to deal with the customers directly. It can be a vicious cycle.

    The last resort I guess would be to pay for the repair yourself if the parts are even available. However, in most cases this is less economical than buying a new TV.
