    Dish Receiver, Home Theater, and DVD/VHS recorder
    I have a Dish network receiver with dvr. I also have a Samsung home stereo system with a dvd player. I just bought a Samsung DVD-VHS recorder. I want to connect these all together to my standard digital TV. I'm having trouble figuring out the connections. The manual diagrams seem very confusing.

    We would really need to know what connections each of your devices has. I'm guessing your 'home stereo system' is an all-in-one stereo system with very basic inputs and probably no outputs. Assuming this is the case, I'd use your TV as the main switching device.

    Hook the outputs of your DVR and DVD/VHS recorders into the input of the TV. Hook the audio out of the TV up to the stereo. You'll probably be using RCA (composite) cables for all of this.

    Let us know what inputs and outputs are actually on the devices and what exactly you are trying to accomplish and I can give a better answer.
