Connecting DVD to TV through DISH receiver
Can't quite get this done. Have 3 connections (yellow, red, white) on DISH receiver to match up to DVD similars, then I turn on DVD player and it seems to be running, but no picture or sound on TV from DVD... the satellite station just continues to play. Do I need RF modulator?

If TV only has F-Fitting(coax) and DVD doesn't have a Cable output, you will need a Modulator. The ones that convert Compostie(red, white, yellow)to Channel 3 or 4.
I sometimes get one (RCA) from dollar store for about $12, you shouldn't have to pay more than 20.

Would I need to connect anything to TV if I'm hooking up through DISH receiver? Said receiver has all the proper connections, i.e. yellow, red, white, as does the DVD player.

What kind of Input does Receiver have? It is looking like the Modulator may be the answer.
If you have an input on the receiver, try it.

From all that I have read in the last day or two, apparently the dvd player cannot be run through the receiver. I need either a newer TV that has S connection or RCA connections, or an RF modulator with these connections. Correct me if I'm mistaken. Thanks.

Picked up a modulator for about $6 when ultimate electronics closed its doors and it does the job fine with an older TV in a room not used much... but I think some ran pricier than this (radio shack was like $25 if I remember right) so shop around. Anyway, it was cheap fix to use a TV that we already owned.
