What would you do?
So my best friend who I have know for ten years does not like my boyfriend and she told me to choose between him and her. I told her I couldn't and she told me we couldn't be friends if I didn't. My boyfriend on the other hand just wants to make me happy I just don't know what to do. Help me please!

When someone tells you that you have to choose between that person and another, all sorts of red flags go up -- poor self esteem, jealousy, a need to control, self-centeredness.
Now do you know what to do?

What a horrible friend... Is she jealous he will take your attention off her?
You need to check this 'friendship' as a genuine friend would want your happiness. What do you think would be the case if she had met a new boyfriend, would she expect you to do and say the same thing?
Some friendships are really un-balanced and you often don't realise until years down the line. Don't let her spoil a potentially good thing with this guy...

That's a strange demand? Is your friend a lesbian or your dating her ex? No friendship demands something like this without a valid reason! My suggestion is to dump her because she is being completely unreasonable! Hats off to your boyfriend for even being ready to talk about this issue!

Some friend, tell her to do whatever she wants to, but you are not making a choice because she says so.

My rule has always been this. If someone tells me that I have to choose between them and someone else I care about, the person asking me to choose gets kicked to the curb.
If you're in my life and want to remain in my life you must accept the other people in my life. You don't have to like them, and you don't have to hang out with them, but you will not ask me to get rid of them. They're in my life for a reason, and if that's not okay with you, then you will no longer be in my life.

She doesn't call the shots in your life-time to end this ''friendship''.
