I'm 16 years old, almost 17, doing my A-levels, horribly stressed, and I'm pretty sure this is all just part of growing up.

I haven't had many relationships in my life, and definitely no serious ones- I figured I'm a bit young to have had loads of them.
But I met this guy last Friday (though we've known of each other for months because we're in one of the same classes at college), he's amazing; really nice, gorgeous and we're into a lot of the same things.
When we met up again on Monday (as a group) we went to see a movie and he kept doing that awfully cliché thing where they put their arm around you... and then he kissed me just before his train arrived.

First thoughts: what just happened?
But I didn't really want to question it all that much...
But I think he's avoiding me now. He has my number but he hasn't text me, he has me email address but he doesn't ever come online, and he has my Facebook but he's never on that either.
I text him myself once just to say I had a good time on Monday, but no reply.

So what does it mean when a guy kisses you and then avoids you for a week?
Does he regret it?

I've been right where you are now... but many years ago... how many times I've heard questions like this and wished there was some way younger people could jump ahead a couple decades and see the answers for themselves...

There are actually many possible answers for this particular question, because EACH person is different... he kisses you and does not contact you for a week? Typical guys! Do NOT lose any sleep over it! One lesson you should learn quickly is that occasionally, when someone is attracted to you, and you reciprocate in some way, even a little, they might feel dominate then, knowing that YOU are now attracted to them. It could be described somewhat as a feeling of being a conquest. I would suspect that if you had NOT contacted him, he would still be after you... ever hear of that old saying "play hard to get"? Sometimes it's pretty true, but again, it depends on the person, the place and the time. When it comes to relationships, understand this... NOTHING is ever written in stone... I would suggest to you that if you continue to contact him, you will only succeed in driving him away. Let HIM come to you.. and if he doesn't, then nothing's lost, no broken hearts down the road. You have a LONG ways to go, a lot to learn, and if you don't have many and varied relationships along the ways, you will be one of the few.

Stick with your studies, be happy, keep your chin up and wait for Mr. Right to come along... and trust me... he will NOT be there at your age! Give that some time... it'll happen, if you really want it to...
