Long story but there's this lad who's had a kid with his girl but were dead close and today he kissed me then said sorry but then he started crying saying he doesn't want to be with her he likes me but I don't want to split up a family cause I know what its like so I don't know what to do, he's not happy with his relationship an I really like him but I know what it is like growing up without a dad and I wouldn't want to be the cause of that

If he's not happy with his relationship why doesn't he leave? If he wants you so badly, and really is as miserable as he's telling you he is, then he has the choice, he can leave. If he stays, then ask yourself why. Better yet, ask him why.

This is what most people do when they start an affair. They whine about how horrible their spouse is, how unhappy they are, they tell you they care about you, but make excuse after excuse to explain why they're still with the spouse "the kids are young and I don't want to leave them, she'll be heartbroken if I leave and I can't do that to her, I made a commitment, I can't afford a divorce.....".

So, which line is he using on you?

Thank you this really helped but still I feel like I'm driving this family apart and I'm really not happy with myself at this time..

You have a choice too. If you hate that you're helping this man commit adultery, then stop seeing him. Love is blind, but it doesn't have to be deaf and dumb too. You have the choice to leave him, find someone that is available to you and doesn't cheat on his wife in order to be with you.
