Tongue Splitting Q's
Im only 13 right now and I was hoping to get my tongue split when Im going to be like 18, 19, 20 ish. You see I look like a normal person but when u get to know me Im quite crazy, daring, wild, funny, and for most people, weird. I don't exactly listen to the same music the other kids listen either, and to me, I feel too plain for my tastes, my body absoutloutly does not go with my mind (Actually if I think about it I would be this really screwed up monster if it did, LOL) so first I was thinking of a tongue piercing but then I decided that I want a tongue splitting with 2 piercing. I was wondering, how much this costs, does it hurt a lot (I was thinking of numbing it?), does it hurt a lot after, do people not want to hire you as much(Ive heard people won't hire you if you have a few piercings and such, It would be great to hear some stories about this with people with split tongues), is it re-virsable, is kissing better, what are the pro and cons? (Just to let you know the left side of my tongue is name Artemis and the right Aphrodite, ^_^) Mention anything about it please! Many thanks!

Your 13, you need to really think about it...
By the time your 18 and able to get this stuff done... I hope you don't decide on tongue splitting.
Tongue piercing didn't hurt that bad. Just a bit when they pushed the needle through and then again when they put the bar in.
The prob with the piercing is you can accidentally bite the bar ball and break your teeth... Think of having your tongue split and you can double your chance. It hurts!! I bit mine once... thank god my teeth didn't break.
I know someone with 3 bars in their mouth. In a triangle shape.
Just becareful.

I agree, hopefully by age 18, you'll be out of this phase. And yes, any visible body modifications (tattoos, piercings, scarring, even tongue splitting) can hurt your chances of getting the job you may want.

I don't think its quite a phase but I do know about the teeth part, my sister has her tongue pireced and she left a few links on my computer accidentally so I read a few. Also what if they can't see my tongue fully split? After getting a tongue splitting you can practice controlling it (tricks) and you can try to close it while talking to the people (of course without the piercings). I haven't fully decided on the piercings but I do want it done (split tongue).

There's a huge maturation period from 14 to 18, whereas there's not as much from 9 to 14. Let us know when you are 18 if you decide to do it.

Not if its's faced the right direction. I planned on putting it on the inside of my arm, not the outside where it clearly visible.
Besides, Even if so I'll just start wearing a lot of hoodies/long sleeved shirts.

I am a volunteer in a hotline crisis center, and I get a lot of questions about tatoos and piercing, more of them are about reversing the procedure that about getting the.
Please don't get your tongue split, instead color your hair or shave your head something that will correct itself if you what it to.

Wow, that does sound crazy.. but class.
I've only got my ears pierced twice and my belly done but I want my lip done now.
It could be a phase, you never do know.

You are seriously increasing the chances of mouth infections and diseases by doing this. I don't think you know all of the risks that may accompany what you are contemplating. It will certainly effect your career prospects, and it will also effect many other area's of you life, that you are still too young to even consider.
It is a good thing, that you will have to wait until you are 18 to have that complicated and risky procedure. Anyone that does something like that before you are of an age of consent, could quite likely find themselves in serious trouble for child abuse or endangerment, and find themselves behind bars.
I would seriously re-think your decision, and think about how this could affect your life. Wisdom comes with age, and you are too young right now to realise how this could alter the course of your young life.

Did you also know that this can affect your taste buds? Would you want to risk not tasting your fave food?

Feel free to plan to artist up your body any way you want. I know you feel it is a kind of self-expression, and I respect your right to do so.
But keep in mind that it's only fair that people will respond to you based on the choices you've made. So doing things like this WILL have consequences in the real world. You'll want to say, "Hey, don't judge me," and you'll be wrong for saying that.
It's one thing to be born dwarfed, or bow-legged, or have fingers/toes missing, a cleft palette, or a lazy eyelid. People should be chastised EVERY time they pass a judgment on a person with a birth variance.
But it's another thing to pierce, tattoo, dye or alter your body in any way by CHOICE and think that deserves the same restraint by the world. It doesn't. You will be judged for your actions, they will have consequences, it is correct that that is true, and YOU will be the one who needs to be accepting of the way the world treats you as a result of your choices.
After all, you chose it to draw attention to yourself. Well, now you've got people's attention and they're making a judgment, so be ready to accept that response in whatever form it comes. You requested it, so you'll get it.
So, again, I encourage you to plan for any sort of self-expression you want. It is your life and your body after all. But it would be so unfortunate to miss out on that dream job, or dream girl, or dream team because your artistic choices scared off those opportunities for you. Sad indeed.

Sorry for not responding, my email had notified me for the first few but then it stopped so I had not known. About my tastebuds, just to tell u, all my senses are horrible, god created me a human because If I was some sort of animal I would die right away. My taste is not good, I wear glasses, feeling is not very good, I kind of hurt my ears listening to Drum and Bass and Hardstyle, so yes. And no matter what people will always judge you. Store owners will keep there eyes out for gothic kids and such. Police will be looking for werid things in people when they are being normal. Its life, its judgement, sometimes it saves lifes, sometimes it ruins them. My personality is wacky and crazy, many people think Im on crack or something, but I'm not, I don't do drugs, its just me. At times I care what people think but when they miss judge me its not there fault, its not mine nethier, nor my parents. Honestly, it would be better off if Im dead, I obviosuly can't handle lifes complex ways so why not live it while I can? My dream job requires too much smartness that I do not have, no matter how much I wish or try I will never succeed so that shall no impair my "dream job" for I shall never have it. Other jobs sure but Im not the office time with handling people so they shant be scared. Some day Ill probably fall off a bridge or get electrucuted (sp? ) because I hadn't seen the sign, or kill myself when things get rough, or get blamed for something I didn't do, or some other thingy that's screwed. So Id rather live life the way I can before Im gone.

If your "dream job" is a job you're not prepared to acquire because you think you're not smart enough, or perhaps you're secretly just too unmotivated to DO the work, then that's not your "dream job", is it?
A dream job is something you're inately good at, enjoy doing, and (surprise!) someone is willing to pay you to do it! So by definition you ARE capable of acquiring your true dream job, or dream jobs.
This has nothing to do with childish wishfulness for things like being President or an astronaut. So I do not accept your premise you cannot get a dream job. You just have the wrong one(s) in mind.

I'm no Suicide Hotline expert, so I won't bother trying to talk you down off that ledge you've got yourself on emotionally.
But I repeat my earlier warning, there's nothing going on in your life you're not greatly in charge of affecting. Walking around feeling like a victim ("get blamed something I didn't do...") is a complete waste of time, and you don't feel any better for it either, so...
If you really ARE going to off yourself sometime, then I agree with you, you should make the most of the time you DO have. That includes not wasting it. No one is going to remember what you did to alter your body, or what you wore, or any of that stuff.
The only thing anyone is going to remember after you're gone is what you did to make the world around you a little better, what you managed to do for others.
===============
If I only had a limited amount of time left on this planet, I wouldn't spend it sightseeing or partying or tattooing or boozing, I'd spend it feeding the homeless, volunteering at the Boys/Girls club, helping in the Children's Ward at the hospital, or elderly care center, anything I could find to make some small difference in someone's life.
That's what I would do.

You aren't born smart enough to acquire your dream job. If you were, we wouldn't be in need of an educational system. Go to college, and educate yourself on whatever you want to do. You will be smart enough for that dream job once you graduate college. Different jobs require different degrees. What exactly is your dream job?
