Does this guy like me or what?!
A'right, so just like many of the other desperate girls on the planet who are clueless about their crushes, I want to know if this particular guy likes me.
See, I met him a few months back when I joined marching band at my high school. I'm going to be a freshman this year, while he's a sophomore. Since he's a vet, it only makes sense that he would be nice to the little freshman child, right?! He initiated conversation with me first & was all, "Hey, Alyssa, how're you likin' band so far?" And we kind of became closer & closer after that. At first whenever he'd try to talk to me, I'd be like 'Umm, hi.' And that was about it. (Don't judge me, okay! I'm shy!) But after we had a week-long band camp thing this summer, we've gotten to become pretty good friends. After all, we both play the same instrument so we're kind of around each other a lot during our drills. Lately, though, he's been giving off signs like he wants to be MORE than friends-that's what I THINK, anyway. I mean, there's always the chance that I'm just taking his words and actions more than they're meant to be because of the fact that I like him. Know what I'm saying? Anyway, so he likes to joke around with me a lot and walk alongside me whenever we move back and forth at band practices from the building to the practice field and stuff. (He likes to stand/sit by me whenever we gather around and listen to our band teacher's announcements, too) One time he lost his drill sheet and left it in the auditorium (a big no-no for bandos!) and I found it because I had lost mine and was looking for it. When I returned it to him, he was about ready to hug me (kinda couldn't though, considering we both had saxophones in our arms) and promised he'd share his with me if we needed it. (Although I did end up finding mine eventually) There was even another time when I totally messed up one of the moves we had to do, and he told me I was doing it all perfect anyway (Even though I DEFINITELY wasn't!). And during basics (They're like marching band version of warm-ups) just the other day, in fact, he insisted I had to stand by him. It seems as though we're always so comfortable around each other! That is, until our last band practice:
We were walking back at the end of the day, and I heard him say "I love you." I'm pretty sure he said it to me, because even though we were within a crowd of kids, he was walking right alongside me and he said it pretty loud and clear. Still, I wasn't sure if he was joking so I just pretended not to hear him. I mean, what was I supposed to do, say ***? Or say I love you back? :o After that, things just got awkward. I mean the only time after that I talked to him was when he said bye to me at the end of the day. (He's never done that before, either... )
We have band practice tomorrow, so I'm going to see him again... but I'm not sure how he feels. Sorry this whole description was so long-winded; it actually would've been even longer if I'd wanted to describe the whole thing. It's just a really long and confusing process.
What do you guys think I should do?
Ask him out? (I'm deff. Not the type to do that!)
Idk if he likes me, so... yea
    Advice would be helpful (:
Thanks for taking like 10 freaking minutes to read this (IF you even made it that far... lmao) :P

I think you have his attention. At least.

Boys at that age are trying to figure out how to let a girl know they like them, and are just learning how.

So he may not be too good at it.

I think you have the right idea about asking him out, but not on a date... casually (after practice maybe) just say let's go get a burger, or a soda , or anything like that.

I'll bet he takes the hint and runs with it.

I hope it works out for the best.

You have to keep it normal.
    Be good friends with him.
Don't have hopes because when their crushed it hurts and its true.
Keep going say hi. Don't tell him you like him! People love to play with freshmans! Its horrible. Be yourself be cool about everything. Say it how it is.
And if he does have feelings and wants something by that age they will come out and say it.
You can't say anything because you're the girl and you don't want to risk a friendship if you really like being around him.

Hope this helped. Keep me posted. :-)
