I was like you by not having my period.. I was very underweight in high school and I would go months and months without periods, I went to the doctors and the Gyno said I'm not ovulating (which is kind of obvious because I'm not getting my periods!) so she checked my ovaries to see if I had cysts on them, and I didn't.

So.. she started me on birth control and I've had regular periods ever since.. either I'm infertile =( or it was because of my weight issues. Are you underweight or extremely overweight.. might be the cause

I suggest you go to a gynocologist. There might be some health issues that need attention.

I also think it depends on your age I started my periods when I was 12 and the didn't get regular until I was about 16, however I would try talking to your mam again especially if your worried if she won't listen is there someone else maybe an aunt or a big cousin you could talk to?

I had the same problem, I went months and months with out a period, finally I went 9 months without one, and my mom decided it was enough, I went to the ob/gyn and found out I have pcos (poly cystic ovarian syndrome) and am now getting treated and have got my period back, I agree with plonak you need to be seen and mabe they will just put you on BC and all will be well again, just keep on telling your mom
