So I recently found out a month ago my girlfriend of 7 months cheated on me. I apologize in advance that this is very long, please give honest true advice.

We were together for 6 months at the time and she lived in Alabama, 2 days after our 6 month anniversary she moved to Harlingen which is closer to Austin. She is staying with her grandma while going to school. When she got there I knew she would be busy for the fact that most of her family lives there a lot of whom she hasn’t seen. During that week our texts became much shorter, when we would talk on the phone she was more distant and we always argued.

One of my friends told me to go look up a twitter name and I found out it was my ex and she had recent pics up and she was flirting with a girl, seeing her and noticed she lived where my girlfriend lived. My heart dropped. The next day I asked her about it and she confessed. I told her we could work it out if she is willing to try and she didn’t want to.

Last Sunday she texted me and called me and she said she wants to try and work it out and she will do anything possible to gain my trust. I agreed and she has been proving it a lot but I’m scared. Every time I get closer to trusting her it’s like I get flashbacks of the stuff I saw her and that girl flirting. Everything she used to say to me she said to her, she called her babe, baby etc. She was chilling with her, and the fact that they live in the same city kills me.

I’m trying because I love her. How do I trust her? Am I doing the right thing in trying to work it out? How do I make this work? Is it wrong for me to throw it in her face sometimes?

Its hard enough for young teens to maintain a relationship, and the distance makes it harder. Most times it comes down to being mature enough to be able to handle yourself, and let others handle themselves.

If you want to get along though, you sure don't go backward by throwing up past mistakes in your partners face out of anger, frustration, or both. Nor being jealous because they are having fun, and you can't be there.

If you cannot deal with your trust issues, or your emotions, how will you deal with the flaws and mistakes of another?
