    Status Change, Tax Returns
    Hi,

I am a resident of India and have been in the US for less than 5 years. I started my job in June 2006 while I was on my OPT. From October 1, 2006, my visa status changed to H1B. I was wondering if I can still use the 1040NREZ form. Is there anything different that I need to do from the previous year when my status was always F1.

    Sincerely,
    W

Yes, you can still use Form 1040NR-EZ. Further, you must file Form 8843 ONE LAST TIME.

In 2007, you should file as a resident alien, filing Form 1040,1040A or 1040EZ.
