    Per diem
I am an independent contractor that does installations in multiple cities and states. I would like to know if I can use the GSA per diem rate for "lodging, meals, and incidentals", or can I only use actual hotel receipts.

You can use ONLY actual hotel costs for the lodging portion; the GSA rates are for guidance purposes only.

You can use the GSA rates for meals and incidental costs.
