Offshore Salary deducted from US salary is taxable or non-taxable ?
    Hi,
I am working in US for the past 1.5 years on H1B.
I want to file tax returns for the year 2009.I have offshore salary(Indian salary) that is being deducted from my US pay stub. So, while filing federal tax returns
    1. The deducted amount be exempted from US taxable salary ?
    2. If it is true, what forms I need to submit.
    3. If it is not, do we need to pay tax on both offshore salary and US salary(for that amount) ?
    Please advise.
    Thanks, CK

Income reported on W-2 is taxable; you do not get deduction for your India salary.
A U.S. citizen or resident must report worldwide income. On H1-B you will also report worldwide income.
