    Non American Citizen
    Hello, I'm a permanent resident but not an American citizen. I'm from Spain and married to an American. I used to have $5,000 exemption. Do I still have it?

    Probably not. Treaty exemptions by design have limited life expectancies and normally expired after a set period.
