How to claim $5000(China&USA) for 1099 misc +w2?
I am F1 student on OPT, already in the US for 5 years, so I will be filing 1040,
I have w2 2000 and 1099-misc 6000, my question is can I claim the $5000 treaty for my 1099-Misc first?
If yes, what number should I put on the Schedule C-EZ line 1? What about 1040 line 12?

    Thank you in advance!

Put $2,000 on Line 7 for the wages, and put $6,000 on the Schedule C-EZ.

On Line #21, put NEGATIVE $5,000, and attach Form 8833 to explain that the treaty exemption is still in effect.

If you need professional help doing this, and if you want to be able to efile your return even with Form 8833, please email me at the email address in my profile.
