Former J2, Current J1, OASDI Exempt?
    Hello,
From 2007 to early 2010 I had the J2 visa. I was working and paying for Federal and State Taxes, Medicare and OASDI. Now I have the J1 visa and I'm still paying for all of that. Shouldn't I be exempt from those taxes?
    Thanks in advance ;)

You are exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare).

You are liable for state and federal income taxes.
