    First time tax filing
    Hi ,
I am going to file my taxes for the first time. My wife doesn't have TIN number and I am going to file it with my tax form.
My question is I have w2 from four different companies and I haven't filed my tax for 2005 as well which I missed because of my ex employer.
    How should I proceed?
Shall I apply for her TIN number first or shall I file along with my tax form?

    Thanks!

    Lalit:

File the 2005 tax return FIRST. If you were married in 2005, you may be able to get the ITIN on THAT return instead of 2006. If so, you will need to wait until you get the ITIN back before you file the 2006 return.
