    How do I find my 2007 IRS tax payment

    Regarding the question, "How do I find my 2007 tax payment?".

    There are several options (assuming it was a check payment)
    1. You can check with your bank for the cleared payment. The check number, date and amount would be helpful to locate the payment.
    2.If it has not cleard your bank and you attached it to your return, it may have inadvertently not detached from your return and sitting in the IRS's files. (FYI It can take a long while to "pull" your return from files.)
    3.If you want to see what payments were made and the dates which they posted to your account, you can call IRS 1-800-829-1040 and they can break down your payments and when they posted to your account. You can also request a transcript of your account which shows all payments to your account.
