Do I need to file income tax during my F-1 Status?
During year 2004 (F-1 status) I sold merchandise on Ebay and earned a reasonable income. Do I need to file income tax for year 2004? If I do need to file Income tax do I have any benefits? Or different form to fill out?

Currently I am working in this Company with my OPT (Started on January 05)

    Skylinet:

Technically, you are supposed to report your net profit from eBay sales, probably on Schedule C, though sales of certain assets could be reported on Schedule D.

Practically, the IRS currently has no way to track eBay transactions, so they would not know if you did not report that income.

I leave it to you and your own sense of honesty to decide if you will report the income.
