Disposition of Real Estate property in US and deductions
Does a non resident allien filing a 1040NR only to report the disposition of a US Real Estate property and no other activity or income, entitled to a standard deduction? A preparer thinks so, but I think foregn filers are not allowed deductions, and in particular a standard deduction, when the only transaction to report is the disposition of Real Estate via a 1040NR. Am I correct? Thanks a lot.

    You are correct!

As a general rule, non-resident aliens who are NOT located in the United States and file to report only U.S.-sourced income are NOT allowed to claim the standard deduction.
