    Classification of dependent
    Hi,
Going through the forms I couldn't find this info. If you have a parent and they live abroad and they are your dependents does they qualify as a dependent? I am here in US and my parents live in Germany.

If your parent is a U.S. citizen or resident, then you can claim your parent as dependent. It is not required that they live with you.
You can claim your parent as dependent (qualifying relative) if
    1. You provided more than half of their support, and
    2. the parent did not earn more than $3,500 in 2008.
