Can't find 'total tax' on Turbo Tax
    Hi everyone,

If you are a Turbo Tax expert or even just know about the software... PLEASE, I need help!

I recentely e-filed my 2007 tax returns on Turbo Tax, but since I did not have 2006's tax information, I had to print out a signature page: form 8453-OL

On the signature page there is a section called 'Tax Return Information'. I wrote in all the required except one, which I can't seem to find that info on. It is a column that says 'Total Tax' and quit honestly I don't know what it means or where to look for it on Turbo Tax.

I need answers because I have to send out this signature page ASAP!

    Thanks!

It should be near the bottom of the 1040 form. It's the calculation for total tax which is then compared to the withheld amount to determine a refund or amount owed.

I'm sorry, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I'm talking about Turbo Tax. It isn't viewd like a form such as a paper 1040, I just answered questions and filled in my info. There are forms included in it but like I said, I couldn't view it in 'form' form if you get what I'm saying :)

I don't understand what you are trying to tell me. I'm sorry but I am rather slow with these things. I don't owe anything to the IRS, but I am getting a refund.

Google the 8453-OL and look under Part I Tax Return Information, number 3 Total Tax. It says that I can find that info on form 1040, line 64; 1040A, line 38 and 1040EZ, line 7, but like I said, when I did Turbo Tax I couldn't view it as one of those forms.

I hope you understand what I'm saying!

    Thank you ScottGem!

Umm I've been using TT for 7-8 years and yes you CAN view the forms directly. Most people (me included) primarily use the interactive interface. Just use the Forms menu and select a form. Look for the line number depedning on the form used.

Its on the menu bar. I'm not home so I don't have the 2007 version of TT here. But the menu bar should be near the top of the window. You can also try the Help and lookup view forms for instructions. But I know it can be done.
