    Bought a Roth IRA for 08 (single) will marry by end of this year
    Hi,

    I'm single and bought a Roth IRA the first of this year for 08. By the end of this year I will be married, what are my options concerning this particular Roth purchase?

    One thing to consider is that when you file your 2008 taxes your income must meet the requirements for a Roth purchase. If you will be filing as Married Filing Jointly, your combined AGI must be less than $156K to be able to make a full Roth contribution. If with our husband's salary you exceed this limit, you will need to convert some (or all) of your Roth contribution to a traditional IRA contribution.
