    Unwanted spyware program
:( A software program called MalwareAlarem2.1 has entered my computer and performed an unauthorized scan of my system. There does not appear to be any way of removing this program short of "buying" the service! That I do not want to do. How do I remove?

Add / remove programs in control panel.

Use Spybot Search and destroy, it's free, Google it.
